Job Description Job Description Manager, Facility Safety and
Sustainability (Regular, Full-Time) Facilities Engineering
Reporting to the Director, Facilities & Sustainability, the
Manager, Facility Safety and Sustainability is responsible for
ensuring a safe, compliant, sustainable, and prepared environment
for staff, visitors, and contractors. This role leads OSHA and
regulatory compliance efforts, develops and implements health,
safety, environmental, and sustainability programs, and oversees
emergency preparedness planning and training. The position serves
as the organization’s subject-matter expert in workplace safety,
environmental health, sustainability, and emergency response.
Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance & Safety Programs Develop,
implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and
programs in alignment with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, NFPA, ADA, and other
applicable codes and standards. Conduct regular safety audits,
inspections, and hazard assessments. Develop and maintain the
organization’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). Ensure
compliance with fire and life safety regulations, ergonomics
standards, hazardous materials handling, and contractor/vendor
safety requirements. Maintain required safety and regulatory
documentation, permits, and inspection records. Conduct safety
audits, inspections, and hazard assessments; document findings and
track corrective actions. Safety Training & Awareness Develop and
deliver safety training and awareness programs for staff and
contractors (e.g., PPE use, ergonomics, hazard communication).
Maintain training logs and ensure current employee certifications
Conducts ergonomic assessments and makes recommendations for
workspace modification as needed. Environmental Health & Safety
(EHS) Compliance Manage hazardous waste, e-waste, and universal
waste programs in compliance with federal, state, and local
regulations. Oversee general waste and recycling programs to ensure
proper handling, diversion, and reporting. Administer the Storm
Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP), including inspections,
reporting, and mitigation measures. Ensure compliance with South
Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) regulations, including
air permits, emissions tracking, and reporting requirements.
Sustainability Programs Develop and implement sustainability
initiatives to reduce energy, water, and resource consumption
across facilities. Partner with internal departments to integrate
sustainability into daily operations, capital projects, and
procurement. Track, measure, and report on sustainability
performance, benchmarks, and compliance with organizational goals.
Represent the organization in external and LA County sustainability
partnerships, working groups, and reporting frameworks. Risk
Management & Incident Response Investigate accidents, incidents,
and near-misses; develop corrective actions and ensure follow-up.
Track and report safety and environmental metrics to leadership.
Support insurance, claims, and liability management with
documentation and corrective actions. Emergency Preparedness &
Response Partner with internal departments to develop and revise
Emergency Operations and Business Continuity Plans. Support Manager
of Emergency Management and Planning and Director of Security in
planning and facilitating evacuation drills, tabletop exercises,
and emergency response training for staff. Serve as liaison with
local emergency responders, regulatory agencies, and external
safety partners. Support Security by maintaining readiness of the
Emergency Operations Centre and coordinating activation during
incidents. Benefits: The expected salary range for this Los
Angeles, CA-based position is $80,000 - $85,000, subject to change,
and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits

degree required (preferred: Occupational Health & Safety,
Environmental Science, Emergency Management, or related). 5 years
of experience in safety management, regulatory compliance, or
emergency preparedness. Strong knowledge of OSHA/Cal-OSHA, NFPA,
ADA, AQMD, SWPPP, and environmental compliance requirements.
Certifications preferred: OSHA 30, CSP, CHMM, or equivalent; First
Aid/CPR/AED Instructor; Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER); CERT
or HazMat awareness. Demonstrated experience developing and
delivering training programs. Strong organizational, leadership,
and analytical skills.
