POSITION SUMMARY: The Front Desk Agent represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest's stay. The agent must determine a guest's reservation status and confirm the duration of the reservation. The front desk agent must ensure that guests complete their registration, assigns all guest rooms, and must accommodate special requests whenever possible.

The front desk is responsible for verifying that the guest's method of payment is valid and follows established credit-checking procedures. The agent must places guest and room information in the appropriate front desk software and communicates information to the appropriate hotel personnel as needed.

The front desk team works closely with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work. It is critically important that the front desk maintain guest room key access secured.

A front desk agent must be sales minded, by presenting all guests with options to assist the guests in making the best room and reservation choices. The front desk anent must know the location and types of available rooms as well as the available amenities of the property. The front desk agent performs cashiering tasks such as bill/invoice settlement and posting charges to the guest folios.
