The Voice Technician installs and maintains the USC Health Voice Systems. This individual will support and maintain a multi-platform voice telephony system, ensuring its efficiency and security. The role will troubleshoot problems reported by users and/or by automated monitoring systems, provide assistance related to installations. This position will also perform moves, adds and changes, based on customer requests. This position will program, install, move, modify voice and related equipment according to job order specifications, company standards and procedures. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions such as dial tone trouble, inoperable phones, voicemail. Will need to be on the on-call rotation. Minimum Education: * High School Diploma required;. 3 years of job specific experience; Associates Degree in a related field is strongly preferred Minimum Experience/Knowledge: * Some college or technical certification training preferred. 5+ years of telecommunications installation/maintenance experience required. Background in LAN/WAN Technologies. TCP/IP/QoS/PoE/VLANs/VoIP. Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Ability to troubleshoot network and VoIP related issues. Excellent communication skills both verbal and writing. Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends as needed. Required License/Certification: * Relevant vendor specific (Cisco, Avaya, Nortel, Siemens) systems certification is preferred. * Fire and Safety Certification.
