Description:PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:The PAC Technician
performs a variety of behind-the-scenes functions for various
productions including dance, concerts, theatre, etc. Assignments
and tasks may vary depending on production requirements. May work
under the direction of the PAC Technical Director, faculty
supervisor or person responsible for the production.DESCRIPTION OF
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:This information is
intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the
position. The list of essential functions below does not identify
all duties performed by any single incumbent in this position.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assists with assembly and disassembly of show productions.
- Assists with loading and unloading of trucks.
- Sets-up/strike staging and/or scenic elements.
- Assists with construction of set risers, musical
equipment.
- Assists with or arranges sound, lighting, and video equipment
before, during and after shows.
- Assists in moving furniture, road cases and miscellaneous
equipment.
- Works show(s) in assigned tech position as assigned by
Technical Director.
- Active support for the College's Principles of Community and
Principles of Diversity in the performance of job duties.REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Individuals must possess knowledge,
skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential
functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how
the essential functions will be performed, with or without
reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills
and abilities.
- Experience with one or more of the following areas: rigging,
lighting, electrical, acoustic, and audio and multimedia
systems.
- Ability to learn proper use of fire extinguishers.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, push, pull, stoop,
twist, stretch, lift up to 50 pounds from ground to waist level
without assistance. Prolonged standing may be required.
- Ability to carry out oral and written directions in the English
language.
- Ability to work in changing work conditions including
temperature.
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and artists.
- Ability to work well without continuous supervision.
- Ability to follow department working methods and
procedures.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills and the ability to
communicate with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work in a moderate-loud noise environment.
- Ability to work with others in a team of up to 5.
- Must be comfortable with heights in the performance of job
duties.QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Any
combination of education, training or related experience that
provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the
job.1 or more years' experience preferred. Experience working in
live entertainment/theater preferred.LICENSES /
CERTIFICATES:None.OTHER:HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:This is a
temporary, occasional, non-benefits eligible, non-exempt
position.Hours of work will be assigned on an as-needed basis by
the department and may include evenings and weekends.Hourly rate
range: $26.50-28.50. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected
for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including
but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education,
specialty, and training.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:None.Work
