Molding Technician
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA
Monday to Friday
1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 5:00AM-1:30PM
2nd shift: Monday-Friday, 1:30PM to 10:00PM
Pay: $25hr
Job Summary:
Experienced in Plastic Injection Molding Systems and Operations in
a Medical Device Production environment. Assist in the operations
of Milacron Engel and Arburg Injection Molding presses with
proficiency while meeting quality, productivity, minimize waste,
cost, housekeeping, and safety goals in accordance with standard
procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices. The Technician is
responsible for following all developed and validated processing
set up guides, Document tool repairs, and helping maintain the
inventory of spare mold insert components. Maintain quality
standards of molded products and ensuring satisfactory delivery of
assembly components to our internal customers. Work with limited
supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and
between shifts, Quality control, mold repair. assembly, planning
and management to attain departmental goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve processing problems with injection molding
machines.
Set up molds and start up molding machines and auxiliary equipment
in accordance with Device Master Record and validated process
parameter guides.
Responsible for cleanliness and orderly condition of the molding
department.
Observance of all safety and environmental procedures and good
manufacturing Practices.
Relay pertinent product and quality-related information to
operators, inspectors, Supervisors, and peers.
Accurately will record and report waste and assist in maintaining
inventory control.
Diagnose tooling problems and perform minor repairs, insert
changes, and minor mold preventive maintenance.
Submit first shot set up inspections to quality and confirm job is
running within ECA quality control standards.
Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information
obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
May troubleshoot electrical problems with mold hot sprues, barrel
heats, relieve operators for break times, and engage in material
handling, cleaning, and loading material in dryers.
Maintain clean working conditions in assigned area and report any
safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required.
Minimum 3 years' experience working in an automated
environment.
Minimum 5 years prior experience in injection molding
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and
computer-generated reports
Computer literate able to work with MS excel, word, project and
other related work applications as required.
Physical requirements, exerting up to 50 pounds of weight at times
and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physically
able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and move across uneven
surfaces. Ability to stand most of the shift.
Helping to resolve manufacturing and production system malfunctions
and providing technical assistance.
Experience with thermoplastics and silicone over molding
processes.
