Job Description:
We are looking for a detail oriented Post Production Accountant
to join our CBS Studios Accounting team. The ideal candidate should
possess post qualification experience in financial accounting with
an emphasis in analysis and reporting. The Post Production
Accountant's primary responsibilities include, managing cost
reporting, and overseeing all day to day operational function of
post/wrap accounting once shows are in wrap, performing various
account reconciliations, analyzing bank financial statements and
reports, and assisting management with monthly & quarterly close
processes.Reports to Director, Post-Production/ Wrap
AccountingResponsibilities
--- Position will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of
multiple shows at different stages of completion through final
closeout of shows. Projects will generally be 30 min - 1 hour
episodic series, both foreign and domestic
--- Oversee all cost reporting and post production operational
activities of shows in post
--- Manage Accounts Payable processing, both within general
production accounting system and Corporate payable processing
--- Oversee preparation and update writer and EP payment schedules
as needed. Review for accuracy to ensure all necessary payments are
approved and made in timely manner.
--- Manage payroll processing during prep, post and wrap phases of
project as needed. Includes timecard review, obtaining start
paperwork, sending all necessary documents to the payroll company,
review and approving payroll edits, paying payroll invoices,
downloading payroll to the production accounting system so it is
accurately reflected in the cost report. Maintaining proper payroll
files.
--- Review and manage trial balance clean-up as necessary including
overseeing the reconciliation of Petty Cash and P-Card entries;
payroll reconciliation, deposits, pay out accrued vacation &
holiday pay across assigned projects.
--- Manage cost reports during post production and monthly closing
Cost Reports when needed. Preparation of costs reports will be in
conjunction with the Finance Executive. For series, prepare and
verify SOPC.
--- Assist with Tax Incentives, coordinating with the tax incentive
team, and working with Auditors and State Revenue Departments.
--- Assist with finalizing Insurance claim audits
--- Miscellaneous ad-hoc projects as needed (cash flow updates,
analysis, updates and requests as needed by finance or production
management).Basic Qualifications
--- 5+ years of experience in Production Accounting, Production
Finance, or equivalent experience
--- Proficient skills in Excel (Microsoft Office Suite)Additional
Qualifications
--- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance Preferred
--- Production accounting experience in television, especially
working with Episodic Series.
--- Knowledge/experience working with production accounting
software (Classic Vista, Global Vista, and Smart Accounting Vista
required, MovieMagic budgeting) preferred
--- Demonstrated attention to detail, time management and
organizational skills
--- Self-motivated, self-starter, team player
--- Good communication and interpersonal skills
