LinQuest is seeking a SME Modeling and Simulation Analyst to join our team in El Segundo, CA.
This position supports the Space System Center (SSC), formally SMC, in Los Angeles, California (El Segundo) for the SMC Technical Support 3 Portfolio Architecture (STS-3 ZA) Contract.
The MS&A SME will perform Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis in support of cross-enterprise architecting, development plans, technology development, concept development, and military utility studies, as directed by the Government ( Portfolio Architecture (ZA) in coordination with Development Corps (DCI)). Additionally, studies can involve interfaces with the partners in other domains and partners contributing to the national security space, including external partners.
Mission areas covered in analysis activities may include but are not limited to: SATCOM, PNT, Space and Terrestrial Weather, Missile Warning/Missile Tracking, Battle Management/C3, Ground and Network Segments, Space Superiority, and Tactical ISR. In addition, Theater Ballistic Missiles (TBM) or Cross Mission Data, and Missions across Space effects from any and all of the above broad mission areas may arise including cross mission combat logistics and maneuver, cross mission special programs, cross mission transport, cross mission data, and cross mission ground. The MS&A SME will lead and coordinate the use of a variety of tools and analytical techniques, to include equation-based, numerical, statistical, and agent-based modeling & simulation environments.
Participate and lead in managing the techniques used and tools in consultation with the Government and as directed by the Government Study Leads and in accordance with the SMC/ZA Models Management Charter.
Responsibilities:



  • Document and report all directed analysis efforts to include problem definition, scientific/engineering assumptions, study limitations or constraints, and mathematical models, computer-based algorithms for deriving solutions and model validation as tailored and as directed by the Government


  • Establish a schedule with resource allocation to complete all analysis steps within each project and across multiple projects based on time and resource constraints - prioritization


  • Lead integration efforts for the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) as well as other Simulation Tools such as SEAS, STK etc., shall be used as appropriate depending on the application


  • Defining and analyzing satellite missions and evaluating mission capabilities/performance for various scenarios and vignettes


  • Develop end-to-end space system architecture analyses and simulating operational tasking and resource utilization


  • Maintain proficiency in framing conceptual challenges, developing and documenting methodologies to quantitatively analyze those challenges


  • Support complex space based architecture trade studies, system-level integration and validation


  • Initiating and leading analysis activities for space based satellite systems, including: system utility, capacity, subsystem modeling, and performance assessments


  • Support development of analysis tools and 3D visualizations using MATLAB, STK, and custom object-oriented software


  • Communicate (both written and verbal) clear and crisp insights and observations based on complex analytical models and technical data interpretation to senior-level leadership and external customers


  • Organizing and managing the parallel execution of multiple, diverse, complex analysis tasks


    Required Experience:


    • 20 years of combined industry, federal government experience, or SETA/FFRDC supporting federal government acquisition with a focus on MS&A


    • Of these 20 years, the individual must have successfully led teams for at least 10 years to meet high visibility goals/objectives on time, and with limited government oversight


    • Must be well versed in programming language capabilities and able perform all duties independently


    • The individual must excel at innovatively interpreting and effectively applying acquisition regulations, law, policy, and guidance with demonstrated results


    • At least 5 years should be with space systems - consideration will be given to other experiences if less than 5


    • Be capable of managing a team, which collectively have experience with system of system enterprise models, architecting tools, and digital engineering environments


    • Detail oriented and the ability to organize, prioritize, and address multi-program schedules simultaneously


    • Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills


    • Proficient with MS Office suite - specifically PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, Project highly desired


    • Ability to learn and adapt to the use of new tools that may be used in future SSC/ZADM activities


    • An active DoD TS/SCI clearance within the preceding 24 months (including start date + 30 days) is required to be considered for this position


    • BS in Systems Analysis or other analytic technical area or Engineering, or other Technical Field - must understand analysis


      Preferred Experience:


      • Proficiency in C++ is desirable, or recent experience with other objected oriented programming languages


      • High motivation, creativity, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment


        Compensation:

        • Starting salary ranges from $170,000 to $185,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
