We are looking for a motivated and experienced Engineering Technician to join the team! This role will support hardware engineers in the development, integration and testing of a broad range of analog/digital signal processing & musical instrument products, including effects processors, audio amplifiers, computer interfaces, etc. This Role will be based from our Calabasas office and the applicant must live close enough to commute on a weekly basis The Engineering Technician is a hands-on position in a creative, fun and driven work environment with outstanding growth potential for the right candidate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform analog & digital electrical design verification for all new products in development.
  • Test, measure, evaluate and benchmark all aspects of product electrical performance, including audio characteristics (frequency response, signal-to-noise, distortion, etc.), signal integrity, as well as verifying product functionality against specified technical requirements (i.e., correct behavior of user interface elements such as switches, potentiometers, encoders, and displays).
  • Test and document product endurance to external environmental factors such as extreme hot and cold temperatures, electrostatic discharge, mechanical shock and vibration, as well as product compliance to world-wide EMI and safety regulations.
  • Prototype and troubleshoot analog & digital circuitry, as needed.
  • Provide similar support for sustaining production and manufacturing engineering, as needed.What you Bring to the table Experience/Qualifications:
    • 2 year degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent.
    • 5+ years' experience as a technician with an emphasis in repair and troubleshooting of analog/digital equipment.
    • Working knowledge of analog and digital circuitry for component-level troubleshooting, with focus on audio products.
    • Ability to work in an engineering lab and competent with standard lab equipment including oscilloscopes, voltmeters, current probes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
    • Working knowledge of audio-specific test equipment, such as Audio Precision, Spectral Measurement/Prism, is highly desirable.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software for documenting test results and creating technical documents such as test procedures, rework instructions, etc.
    • Experience with building & troubleshooting electronic circuit prototypes, utilizing both thru-hole and surface-mount components. Experience with BGA assembly and rework a plus.
    • Experience with regulatory compliance testing (EMI, ESD, etc.) is highly desirable.
    • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout CAD software (Mentor Graphics PADS or equivalent) is highly desirable.
    • Detail-oriented team player with excellent documentation and communication skills.
    • Ability to work on assigned tasks with very little supervision, prioritize between multiple tasks, meet aggressive deadlines, work extended hours (as needed).
