Summary The Director of Procurement directs, administers, and coordinates a significant portion of the company's overall purchasing spend. Lead the activities in supply chain management, supplier partnership, development, and guidance, as well as work inter-departmentally to achieve the highest levels of customer service with minimum inventory investment and maximum manufacturing productivity. Reviews vendor quality and maintains price controls and inventory flows to identify and implement efficient purchasing programs. Develops and directs objectives, policies, and processes regarding all purchasing functions. Creates functional strategies, and specific objectives and develops budgets and procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Responsibilities Develop and implement a sourcing plan that maximizes cost savings and offsets supplier risks.
Create holistic purchasing SOP programs across the entire company that covers not only raw material transactions but establishes RFP protocols for all major investments and spends, i.e. services.
Develop Key Performance Indicators and conduct supplier evaluation and negotiation to gain supplier commitment
Develop the logistical model for purchasing raw and packaging materials which will provide the overall lowest landed cost.
Work within logistics, planning and purchasing to ensure the consistency, cost-effectiveness, efficiency and adequacy of the procurement process.
Responsible for overseeing and facilitating the purchasing strategy, supervising teams of subordinate staff in purchasing, operations and logistics, and ensuring all employees and processes meet the company's standards and designations for work quality
Establish essential guidelines for approving purchase orders, set purchasing policies, manage inventory, budget for materials and continuously consider stock requirements, skills and account balances
Manage purchasing processes and results and collaborate initiatives for cost-reduction
Communicate regularly leadership team, Operations and Finance departments, production workers, sales representatives and administrative workers
Direct communication with vendors and suppliers to handle queries, make agreements and improve the purchasing process

Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Field conditions vary. Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (i.e., milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; MBA a plus.
APICS/CPIM/CPSM certification strongly preferred.
Seven to ten (7-10) years procurement experience with a minimum four (4) years' experience focused on sourcing, raw material, supplier qualification, negotiations, contracting and contract management in food related manufacturing and supply management Knowledge Strong knowledge in the procurement field and import regulations Skills/ Abilities Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, ERP, SAP, strong project management skills, statistical analysis skills, sophisticated graphic presentations skills,
Understanding of financial reports.
Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve issues in a timely manner
Must possess strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees
Demonstrated experience implanting new programs throughout an organization
Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, managers, and executive leadership, and in group presentations and meetings
Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information
Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently
Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality Work Environment The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, crawl, sit, talk, move about, hear and speak. May be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds and be able to use appropriate support equipment to lift and move greater amounts. Must be able to stand for approximately 8 hours. Must be able to work independently, in a team environment, and drive projects to solutions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
