Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. Position Overview

Hubbell is searching for a Maintenance Supervisor to work in a highly dynamic facilities/maintenance department. Duties include, distribution of work orders, supporting the performance of preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting including emergency breakdowns in a high production manufacturing facility. This will also include daily pass downs and shift reports to other shifts as well as engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct maintenance staff daily to:
    • follow Company safety policies at all times.
    • ensure strict staff adherence to lock out tag out procedures.
    • perform maintenance, repairs and upgrades of buildings, equipment, and machinery in a professional and safe manner.
    • ensure equipment/maintenance work is completed correctly in accordance with manufacturing and/or industry standards and safe to use prior to releasing for normal use. The bypassing of equipment guarding and safety devices will not be tolerated.
    • Inspect facility and equipment as scheduled to determine problems and perform necessary maintenance.
    • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules keeping production downtime at a minimum for assigned work.
    • Direct outside contractors and ensure compliance to company safety polices.
    • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to assigns duties.
    • Facilitate continuous improvement development of department policies, work procedures, and training, and make changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
    • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
    • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
    • Maintain time and production records.
    • Estimate, submit requisitions, and inspect materials as needed.
    • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
    • Perform activities of workers supervised as needed.
      Basic Qualifications

      Skills and Experience
      • 5- 10 years as a Maintenance/Facility Supervisor preferably in heavy manufacturing operation/facility.
      • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of maintenance/facility disciplines
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to build trust with fellow employees
      • Good communication and presentation skills
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
      • Understanding of budgeting and performance management.
      • Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
      • Detail oriented.
      • At least four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience including developing and maintaining a preventative Maintenance program.
      • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
      • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
      • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
        Preferred Qualifications
        • Good understanding of Cal/OSHA regulations
        • Good knowledge Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
        • Some knowledge of AQMD, EPA, CUPA Permitting and Regulatory compliance.
        • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER and/or OSHA 24 Hour Hazardous Materials Technician Levell III Responder
