Business Segment Overview Eckert & Ziegler Isotope Products provides sealed and unsealed radiation sources and materials for Medical Imaging sources; Industrial sources for measurement and analysis; Oil Well Logging sources and related products; Reference, Calibration and Environmental Monitoring sources and solutions; Bulk radioisotopes for pharmaceutical, therapeutic and industrial product manufacturing; Services for collection, recycling and disposal of sources and low-activity waste; Sources for industrial Non-Destructive Testing; High-Activity radiation sources for radiation processing and sterilization; Medical and Industrial irradiators for blood irradiation, sterilization or calibration.The JobEckert & Ziegler Isotope Products seeks an R&D Engineer to join our team. This is an intermediate level position responsible for new product development and engineering support activities. This position is responsible for the in-laboratory development of new products and processes; technical support for existing product lines; design of custom products and RFQs; technical support for sales and customers.Duties:
  • Design and development of new products and processes.
  • Responsible for the laboratory development of new production procedures, and maintenance and improvement of existing production procedures.
  • Design parts and assemblies using SolidWorks. Create 3D models for the purposes of testing and design evaluation.
  • Coordinate services and projects from third parties. Source material, products, and services in order to convert designs into cost-effective, production scale parts.
  • Support design transfer to manufacturing and ensuring that products satisfy their intended use.
  • Acts as the technical support for sales via customer interactions, trade shows, and customer visits.
  • Responsible for technical support of the Eckert & Ziegler Quality System through creation and maintenance of design files, technical files, risk management, etc.
  • Meet safety and regulatory requirements (ALARA, SS&DR) for products and processes through process design, testing and validation. Requirements:
    • MS degree in a scientific field (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering), with nuclear-related fields preferred; or BS degree in a scientific field (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering) and 2-5 years' experience. Will also consider PhD in a scientific field.
    • Must have some knowledge in nuclear science, with the ability to apply scientific theory to resolve technical issues related to the product.
    • Ability to independently manage long-term projects is required.
    • Must possess critical and analytical thinking skills.
    • Detail oriented and exceptional documentation skills.
    • Needs to possess the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and colleagues.
    • Must have the interpersonal skills to support selling efforts.
    • Experience with Medical devices a plus.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft applications. SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD experience a plus. We are an equal opportunity employer.
