Job Description:

Team Rubicon (TR)is seeking anAssociate, Instructional Designer. The Associate Instructional Designer will partner with their Learning Design & Development (LDD) team members and subject matter experts on the design and development of learning solutions that focus on topics related to professional skills as well as things like heavy equipment operation. This will require agility and flexibility to work on multiple projects in rapid development. This will include researching and synthesizing content from numerous resources to formulate job aids, infographics, presentation media, microlearning or online courses. The Associate Instructional Designer role contributes to the consistent, timely, and focused learning deliverables aimed at the adult learner in coordination with internal stakeholders across the organization.

  • Collaborates on design and production of online and instructor led learning solutions, job aids, and learning media
  • Develops or works from learning objectives provided to design learning that engages diverse learners
  • Copyedits, researches and synthesizes resources to develop learning content
  • Engages with stakeholders to apply continuous improvement of learning solutions
  • Consults with learning media designers to identify best-in-class learning solutions appropriate to the learning use case
  • Writes assessment items from learning content to measure learning success against stated learning objectives
  • Tracks progress on assigned tasks using project management software, staying on top of deadlines, managing multiple projects and assigning/overseeing tasks with project collaborators
  • Self-assesses individual contributions for quality assurance and for internal best practices in learning and information design

    Experience and Background

    • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, communications or other relevant elearning/curriculum design and development program, minimum requirement; Master's degree, a plus
    • 2-3 years of instructional design and development experience and curriculum samples, required
    • Experience working with Articulate Storyline and Rise required; familiarity with Adobe Captivate desired; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign a plus.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word required; experience with project management software such as Asana; familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Outlook and SharePoint desired
    • Experience conducting virtual meetings, screensharing and facilitation of online collaborations required

      Special Requirements

      • This is a full time; IN-OFFICE and the position can be based out of the following locations: NationalHeadquarters in Los Angeles, CA and provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)
      • Occasional evening and weekend assignments and travel.
