ResponsibilitiesThe David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking aPre-Clerkship Medical Education Curriculum Coordinator to be a part of the teamthat delivers and provides oversight for the Early Authentic ClinicalExperience (EACE) as well the Scientific Foundations of Medical Sciencecomponents of the pre-clerkship curriculum. In this role, you will be one of themain points of contact for the first-year medical students and faculty leaders,and will act as subject matter expert, partnering with staff and Faculty in variousdisciplines to develop instructional content and supporting materials for newcourse development, course maintenance, and course revisions.As our Curriculum Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing medical school and LCMEpolicy/procedure, overseeing the delivery of tests and assessments, and workingwith faculty to identify program changes/improvements and measuring impact toassist in developing quality improvement efforts and overall strategy. You will also partner with the educational measurement team toassess data and ensure accurate recording and documentation of opportunitiesand gaps in curricular delivery and the learning environment. This role willrequire that the candidate be highly organized, efficient, proficient with andopen to learn new software programs, problem solve, and spend effort learningthe intricacies of medical education. Attendance at certain periodic evening orweekend events is required. In partnership with faculty and Curricular Affairs Leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring all aspects of the medical education curriculumare delivered with excellence and in the highest quality.Qualifications

  • Skill in managing all logistics of curriculum delivery and curricular oversight.
  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate information, identify and anticipate problems, troubleshoot, and suggest solutions and method of implementation.
  • Ability to work occasionally before and after regular business hours and on weekends to accommodate programmatic needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with an evolving curriculum. In addition to being comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities among competing demands, with appropriate flexibility to accommodate frequent interruptions and adjust priorities.
  • Skill in organizing and maintaining complex program management documents, spreadsheets, and productivity dashboards.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and database management.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and master new software programs such as Learning Management Systems, MyCourses, Qualtrics, MS Teams, Box, Kahoot!, Zoom, and Poll Everywhere.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with diverse staff, faculty, and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize current programmatic information for presentations.
  • Demonstrated writing skills to compose logical, detailed, comprehensive, and grammatically correct correspondence, procedures, and/or reports to various faculty, students, and staff; and provide guidance to faculty and other team members as needed.
  • Experience in higher education, ideally health professions education, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with general guidance and training, and be resourceful.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information and handle issues with discretion and sensitivity, knowledge of federal privacy laws pertaining to students, complete annual FERPA training.
  • Skill in coordinating special events by determining location, time, managing conflicts, and proactively addressing all planning, purchasing and logistics.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to push and pull carts that are full of supplies.
