Curative is seeking a talented Onsite Assistant Research Scientist to support the Serology/immunology team in Monrovia, California. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, intellectually curious, and thrives in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. This individual will have the exciting opportunity to work both independently and with the team on several projects including the investigation of innate and adaptive immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 variants of interest and vaccination and will report to the Senior Scientist.Responsibilities

  • Basic laboratory skills: Sterile cell culture techniques, pipetting, preparing reagents, troubleshooting experiments, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
  • Assist the team in conducting lab experiments in the following areas: Developing new ELISA- and PCR-based immunoassays, cell culturing of eukaryotic & prokaryotic cell lines, and blood processing for PBMC isolation.
  • Maintain compliant laboratory records, accurately document all laboratory activities in laboratory notebooks and internal technical reports in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)
  • Conduct scientific literature review for new projects and create summaries in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, manage sample inventories using excel and other related software.
  • Analyze scientific & clinical trial data using Excel, Prism and/or R to support the project lead.
  • Scientific writing skills required to prepare SOPs, summary reports including manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications resulting from various clinical trials.Qualifications
    • B.S. degree in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology related field with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a laboratory setting OR M.S. degree in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology related field and laboratory/research experiencePreferred Skills/Experience
      • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
      • Ability to take initiative in a research-focused environment - regular reading, writing, and conducting/designing laboratory experiments
      • Ability to plan and carry out experiments independently and to work with complex instrumentation and software
      • Demonstrates proficient written and oral communication and presentation skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
      • Strong data organization and analysis skills
