ResponsibilitiesThe Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Lead Implementation Specialist (HOME) to join the DMH-UCLA Public Mental Health Partnership (PMHP). Primary duties include:

  • Determining technical assistance and model (clinical) needs among providers working in the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) Homeless Outreach Mobile Engagement (HOME) model
  • Overseeing the planning, delivery, and quality improvement of HOME provider trainings
  • Compiling relevant trainings used in other treatment contexts, evaluate their relevance to Los Angeles County, and consider implementation with partners and training team members
  • Providing supervision of up to 8 Implementation Specialists
  • Consulting and creating corrective action plans with HOME leadership, LACDMH leadership, and PMHP Directors on administrative or clinical challenges presented by HOME providers
  • Developing and implementing quality assurance and improvement activities for all facets of program delivery
  • Planning and supervising the development of a portfolio of intervention materials including: manuals, online and skill-building group curricula for HOME providers such as training videos, identification of relevant peer-reviewed research articles, popular media, and other training materialsNotes: This position is temporarily, primarily remote due to COVID-19, so interactions with team members will mostly take place over email, Slack, and Zoom. Once in-person operations resume, frequent travel within Los Angeles County may be required. For travel to locations other than work office, you'll be reimbursed for mileage.QualificationsBachelors degree in a mental health related fieldAdvanced degree in a mental health related field i.e. MSW, Ph.D., MA, Psy.D, Ph.D. or Ed.D. (highly preferred)Demonstrated thorough knowledge of LACDMH HOME program, homeless services, homeless outreach and/or similar programs (e.g. Full Service Partnership (FSP) program, Assertive Community Treatment, Housing First)Experience communicating complex information to people with varying levels of education and training and different learning stylesExperience leading trainings for clinical staff and administrative staffExperience providing clinical support for staff at remote sites who are dealing with challenging cases and caseloadsDemonstrated excellence in training curriculum developmentExperience in developing educational materials for dissemination through an Internet-based platformSkill in keeping accurate records, demonstrated attention to detailKnowledge of the mental health issues impacting families of those with severe mental illnessAbility to work flexible hoursMust have valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to an automobileReliable source of transportation to travel to service delivery sites to deliver training in Los Angeles CountyFamiliarity with collaborative workgroup and reporting tools, including SalesForce, Access, and SharePointDemonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPointUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
