Adventist Health White Memorial in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced/certified Palliative Care Advanced Practice Provider to join our busy adult Inpatient population. Candidate will be working alongside the medical staff and medical residents with specific oversight from the Palliative Care Medical Director. We're looking for a Full Time/40 hours per week Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner who: Develops, implements and coordinates a nascent inpatient Palliative Care program. Maintains responsibility for providing expert clinical care. Assesses, plans and provides patient care in collaboration with the attending physicians. Provides comprehensive health assessments, performs medical diagnosis of acute and chronic illnesses, writes prescriptions and formulates treatment plans. Candidate must have leadership skills that include strong communication skills, the ability to build transdisciplinary teams, and the ability to function independently. In collaboration with the Medical Director of Palliative Care, candidate will be responsible for the development of a palliative care program that focuses on utilizing cultural humility to meet the needs of the community we serve. The position and program are supported by Social Worker, Case Management, and Chaplains from the Continuum of Care and Spiritual Care departments. Essential Functions: Interviews patients, employees and/or family members. Performs initial and periodic physical examinations. Evaluates patient behavior and explores patient's interpretation of health needs. Works under the scope of practice of a nurse practitioner and as an agent of the palliative care physician. Clearly communicates and explains diagnoses, treatments and prognoses. Oversees the maintenance of adequate, concise, legible and up-to-date documentation of patient care. Makes note of medical problems, medications, lab orders, subjective and objective data, Writes orders to increase, decrease, or change medications. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Continually educates the medical staff and medical residents regarding palliative care. Creates a self-sustaining palliative care presence throughout the medical center.

You'll be successful with the following work experience qualifications: Two years relevant acute inpatient palliative care experience: REQUIRED Leadership experience: REQUIRED Fluent in medical Spanish: REQUIRED High Emotional IQ: REQUIRED Required Licenses/Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required Palliative Care Certificate: Required Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure in California: Required Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in California: Required Benefits: Salaried model Retirement Plan Life Insurance Malpractice Medical/dental/vision CME/Vacation Starting bonus available
