The Senior Manager of Segment Positioning is a strategic role in
the Global Market Development Team, a function of Segment
Marketing, reporting to the Director of Segment Positioning.
Working in conjunction with the broader Market Development team and
the regional Field Development teams this lead will primarily be
responsible for documenting the vertical industry digital
transformation strategy and thematic narrative; inclusive trends
and forces, customer profile and persona, Platform and ecosystem
insights, pursuit positioning and overall go-to-market strategy.
This lead will be responsible for creating and maintaining a
knowledgebase relating to industry intelligence and go-to-market
strategies, ensure alignment across sales, marketing, product and
partner organization, and prepare enablement content to ensure our
Go-T-Market engine can action at scale.
This strategic role will be a critical part of the global Market
Development, Segment Marketing team. Segment Marketing is a
function that is "In service to" Marketing, Sales, Product, and
Partner. This Global organization is responsible for defining what
to focus on (segment strategy, intelligence& targeting), the value
proposition (thought leadership & pursuit tools) and trusted
partner practices (verticalized pursuit engagement) in close
partnership with, and tailored to, our Customers. The Industry
Digital Transformation strategy and positioning knowledge base
owned by the Senior Manager of Segment Positioning will be a
cornerstone of this global organizations mission.
Develop a crowdsourced, collective Industry view, based on
collaboration with a community of Subject Matter Experts (SME)
leads, 3rd party analysts, and internal data analysis.
Monitor Industry trends driving digital transformation and
identify potential upcoming trigger events related to regulation
changes, process transformation, macroeconomic trends, or
Understand the demand type from key industries and align to the
segmentation model and customer journey.
Curate and package insights, strategy, and content in the
vernacular of the Industry and collaborate across sales, marketing,
product and partner organization to enable their development of
assets at scale (digital assets, playbooks, blogs, guides,
Leverage internal data sources to analyze customer buying
journey by identified industries, and identify trending areas of
greatest opportunity and growth.
Understand competitor capabilities in key industries and ensure
we maintain a differentiated leadership view.
- Maintain a customer facing briefing guide positioning this
leadership view and enable a self-serve knowledgebase repository
that sales teams can use to customize and tailor based on their
account needs, Equinix's Platform recommendation (Product, Partner
Service, Location) and maturity.
Bachelor's degree required.
10 years' experience with 5 years' experience in Cloud, SaaS &
Information Technology industry.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Sales or a
product/solution/industry marketing function .Business and market
analytics experience preferable; inclusive proficiency in business
intelligence, Tableau and Salesforce tools, as well as marketing
Collaboration and enablement education and experience
Strong delivery and project management background.
Experience integrating a collect set of research input and
developing and adapting simple, actionable industry relevant
Monitoring, maintaining, and adapting positioning based on
success metrics and trending requirements.
Ability to communicate complex topics into effective language &
Cross-organizational system thinking & design.
Can work with higher level concepts and bring them to
Public speaking and debating (media training).
