You are a strategic, innovative Facilities Manager ready to help clients optimize their business!


We are looking for a Manager of Facilities for a pharmaceutical company in Los Angeles, CA. The Manager of Soft Services (janitorial, pest control, grounds maintenance, office move, add & change, waste management, ect.) is responsible for the on-site and overall day-to-day management and operation and effective functioning of the facility to provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using best business practices to manage resources, services and process to meet the needs of building occupants. They will maintain a strong focus on customer service and the employee experience by ensuring our offices are clean, environmentally appealing, and set up with the proper resources. (S)he will also manage mail room services, Appearance Care and all non-technical subcontractors (grounds keeping, waste management, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have a passion for excellence and the ability to manage and lead a team of professionals in continuous pursuit of excellence
  • Work in a matrix environment of employer and client relationships
  • Have a firm understanding of GMP and non-GMP cleaning processes and standards
  • Directs daily soft service operations to ensure employees have appropriate equipment and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines
  • Have an understanding of regulatory, and safety standards
  • Maintain dual budget processes
  • Execute projects as assigned to meet technical, budget and schedule goals
  • Ability to work as a member on cross-functional and self-directed work teams

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Three years of experience as a manager in facilities, janitorial and/or business services
  • Two years of experience managing teams

Position Summary:

Back up to GM; 2nd in command;
Supervises the account as the #2 manager and has full responsibility including supervision of other managers. Responsible for entire account when the Director of Facilities Ops is not present.
Two scenarios for this position in Univ.:
A) Has all facilities rolling up – Custodial / maintenance and grounds, and FM who reports to GM; very large integrated operation.
B) Mega account – multiple managers of maintenance; PM function; other specific managers – unifying position.

Key Duties
- Manage other managers; manage by walking around (rounding); Staffs, trains, and is responsible for employee development
- client interface;
- payroll oversight;
- budgetary oversight on some services;
- Oversees and coordinates projects
- Manages work orders/CMMS
- Manages mechanicals (i.e. HVAC)
- Manages QA and Safety


Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 5 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services
