Job Description:
Work in metal fabrication shop saw cutting, bending, punching,
forming various sizes of cold/hot roll steel bars, flats, angles,
etc., into of various size shapes with punched holes, bends, etc.
using standard hydraulic punch press and metal forming, saw
cutting, grinding wheel, and drill press equipment. 1. Implement
Company safety and break policies, ensure all employees work in a
safe manner, follow directions, and wear company issued Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately stop any unsafe activity,
assess all accidents, and report to Plant Manager. 2.Have excellent
knowledge regarding metal/fabrication shop processes including
operation of related equipment utilized in
department to maximum part/material yields while working in an
efficient manner achieving shift
through/put quantity requirements. 3. Learn and understand how to
standard hydraulic punch press and metal forming, saw cutting,
grinding wheel, and drill press equipment - Maximum Lifting Policy
is 50 pounds. 4. Learn how to read and interpret shop fabrication
drawings to saw cut, bend, punch, form, etc., various sizes of
cold/hot roll steel bars, flats, angles, etc., into of various size
shapes with punched holes, bends, etc., - Maximum Lifting Policy is
50 pounds. 5. Work in an efficient manner maintaining part shift
through/put quantity requirements. 6. Ask questions when unsure of
work safety and through-put quantity requirements. 7. Keep area
clean, follow good housekeeping practices. EDUCATION AND/OR WORK
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. 5 - 7 years working in metal/fabrication shop, with 3 - 5 years
supervisory experience required.
2. High school diploma preferred but not required. REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:
1. Ability to work in a group environment, give instructions, lead
and train others as needed.
2. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to
completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed
routines, and standard accepted practices.
3. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while
maintaining a positive attitude. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job
functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative
productivity standards. 2. Ability to maintain regular, punctual
attendance consistent with company policies 3. Must be able to lift
and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast paced environment with
repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull
with no difficulties, be on feet during work shift, and clearly
