Job Description Custodian (Part Time) Position Definition: This position reports to the Facilities Manager of the Trustee Board and is responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of the church facility, including upkeep of the parking lots. The position work schedule is 32 hours per week: Tuesday through Friday 5 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday and Sunday - 8 am to 5 pm. Essential Duties: (Partial) Regularly clean the church facility; Empty all exterior and interior trash cans into the dumpster. Wipe down and disinfect the kitchen weekly and after any event. Clean and disinfect restrooms once a week and spot clean daily. Arrange/set-up rooms for meetings, events, or conferences Replace broken or burned out light fixtures as needed. Addresses simple plumbing, electrical, or other repair work as needed, Prepare all classrooms for use, At end of shift, check all rooms, turn off lights, and lock doors and gates. Immediately report any major major maintenance problems. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, AND 3-6 months custodial, housekeeping or janitorial experience. Required Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of methods, materials, chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment used in janitorial work; and safety practices in janitorial work. Ability to use and care for janitorial equipment and supplies; follow directions; and communicate effectively at a level appropriate to the position.
