Tell me about the role: Under general supervision from the Chief
Privacy Officer,the Privacy Analyst works in implementing and
administering federal and stateregulatory requirements on patient
privacy and the confidentiality of patientinformation. This
position will interact with all levels of CSMC
management,employees, physicians, and patients in conducting
privacy investigations,reviewing complaints and concerns pertaining
to patient privacy, maintainingnecessary documentation and taking
appropriate follow-up action as needed. ThePrivacy Analyst stays
current on and applies applicable state and federalprivacy related
law and serves as key internal privacy resource for staff
andpatients. Incumbents in this role also assist with the review,
maintenance anddevelopment of applicable privacy related policies
Requirements: Bachelors degree in business, healthcare
administration orrelated field required
Certified in Health Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or
similarcertification. CHPC or similar certification must be
obtained within 12 monthsof hire, if individual does not already
hold valid CHPC or similarcertification.
2 years minimum related experience in a legal support,privacy,
audit or investigative capacity; or equivalent combination
ofeducation and experience.
Ability to manage difficult, sensitive and
confidentialsituations with integrity and professionalism.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to deal effectively
withdiverse skill sets and personalities.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and
Executes all job responsibilities and assignments
promptly,reliably, honestly and ethically.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge and experience in matters relating to patientprivacy
and the confidentiality of patient health information.
