Find your future with us.The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking Mid-Level Software Engineers in El Segundo California, Annapolis Junction Maryland, Fairfax, Virginia, or Huntington Beach California.The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
• Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
• Performs software project management and software supplier management functions
• Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics. Executes and documents software research and development projects
• Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
• Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
• Works under general direction This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycles
  • Experience with requirements analysis
  • Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, JavaScript
  • Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne
  • Experience with Agile development methodologiesPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
    • 5+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
    • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Poly
    • Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Gitlab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc).Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
