We are looking for a technical leader with experience in developing and growing bot management and anti-fraud capabilities. You will support the Security Product Engineering Organization to develop foundational technologies that power our existing and future bot-management, anti-fraud, and anti-platform-abuse products. You will have the autonomy and support to experiment, improve and ultimately define the future of the systems you are responsible for. As a Security Product Engineering leader you will provide mentorship as well as help us shape patterns, standards, and methodologies for the whole department.

What You'll Do
Develop, test, and maintain bot management and anti-fraud capabilities built on Fastly's globally distributed systems
Work with peers and Fastly product managers to identify and prioritize forward-looking bot-management, anti-fraud and related product features
Collaboratively steer Fastly's security product architecture
Integrate these capabilities tightly with other Fastly systems
Mentor teams in everything from data analysis to solving complex code issues
Anticipate the functionality, scalability, and performance needs of Security Product Engineering teams at Fastly
Work collaboratively with multi-functional teams

What We're Looking For
Deep understanding of adversarial traffic classification, mitigation techniques, and associated ecosystems
Principled understanding of information security, privacy, opacity, and other qualities of bot-management and anti-fraud systems
Understanding of the challenges involved in using, building, operating, and maintaining scalable and reliable distributed security systems
Experience working with customer security operations teams
Experience with writing clear, performant and maintainable code in Javascript, Rust, or Golang
A history of technical leadership for highly scalable, reliable software systems
A technical lead who can execute effectively with a distributed team
Thoughtful, customer driven approach to design and implementation

We value a variety of voices, so this is not a laundry list. It would be an added bonus if you have experience in ANY of these:

Prior experience developing bot management and anti-fraud technology
Operational experience in bot-management and anti-fraud: data analysis, developing stream processing tools, and automating preventative measures
Experience detecting and mitigating network DDoS attacks
Applied data science or machine learning expertise
Experience defining and delivering new product features in dynamic environments
Expertise in designing, analyzing, profiling, and problem solving on large-scale distributed systems
Experience delivering results in an IaC culture
Experience with CDNs or edge computing technology
