The candidate is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related Windows infrastructure for the classified programs. Duties include but are not limited to providing computing support to classified programs in Windows desktop and server environments; troubleshooting and fixing incidents related to engineering software and hardware; and assisting in designing, implementing, and supporting Windows environments with emphasis on supporting 2019 server platforms. Though this position is with a larger IT team, the candidate is expected to work well on his or her own with only general direction. The candidate is expected to be self-directed, able to multi-task and prioritize work, possess excellent problem-solving skills, have strong written and verbal communication skills, is customer focused, and organized. In addition to the hard skills for supporting a technical environment, experience with an IT incident/service request system and strong customer interaction skills with users of all levels are required.The candidate's roles and responsibilities include:Develop infrastructure and service management concept of operationsDevelop and maintain automation capabilities to streamline and secure technical processesDevelop and maintain disaster recovery plansPlan for capacity and monitor performance and service availabilityMaintain strict access control to all networks and IT infrastructuresPartner with application/project/security teams and vendors to plan, design, and implement new IT infrastructureProactively management of infrastructure to help maintain a healthy environmentProvide technical leadership and mentorship to 1st and 2nd level system administratorsMaintain infrastructure security standards for all systems & employ security hardening techniquesExperience in engineering, implementing, and administering of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory and group policyExperience building servers and workstations on bare metal hardwareQualifications:Minimum of 4 years' experience with the following:Experience configuring storage such as NetApp or HP storageNetworking: Network security, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, FirewallsApplications: MS Office & various network Server/Client applicationsIdentification and resolution of technical issuesAutomation via scriptingNetwork and infrastructure services such as domain controllers, global catalogs, DNS, and DHCPInfrastructure backup, restore, disaster recovery and business continuityImaging Windows desktop systems and familiarity with MDTVMware VSphere (ESXi, vCenter, etc)Effective written and interpersonal communicationCompTIA Security+Active DoD Secret security clearanceDesired Qualifications:Experience with VSAN and virtual networkingExperience with the following Microsoft technologies: SCCM, KMS, MDT, and WSUSFamiliarity with Splunk & Centrify productsMinimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology or related technical discipline and a minimum of 4 years related experience or in lieu of a bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance.Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience.
