Avionics Strategic Business Unit is seeking a DevOps Engineer. In
this role, DevOps is defined as a set of practices that combines
software development enablement (tools/artifacts) and Information
Technology operations. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for
designing, implementing, and supporting DevOps solutions for the
Commercial Avionics Linux Platform Team. Each solution will strive
to improve the overall development lifecycle and enhance the
quality of our continuous delivery/deployment. The ideal candidate
will engage beyond the team and collaborate with other
organizations to understand and implement best practices. This role
is remote. Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will
work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to
travel to the site location as needed. Job Responsibilities: Use
industry best practices and capabilities to assist programs with
deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevOps
solutions. Support software tool customization and automation,
including deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to
support program needs. Assist engineering teams with development
and support of build/test pipeline and integration, optimizing for
performance and scalability across both cloud and onsite computing
environments. Provide guidance on software engineering tool
hardware infrastructure resource requirements. Experience with
Containerization and Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Experience with DevOps philosophies. Experience deploying and
supporting Gitlab CI/CD tooling, pipelines, and automation
solutions in a business/enterprise environment. Experience
provisioning cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS. Basic
Qualifications: Bachelor---s degree (typically in Science,
Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and 5 years of prior
relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and
minimum 3 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of
relevant experience is required Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent
Resident ---Green Card--- holder--- --- Direct experience with
different Project Management methodologies (Scrum, Waterfall,
Kanban, Agile). Experience implementing code/artifact control tools
such as Gitlab, Artifactory including branching best practices.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (automation tools such as
Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform.) Experience with the architecture
and design of COTS Infrastructure. Experience with Linux System
Administration. Scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby,
Bash, etc.). General working knowledge of networks, storage, and
virtualization. Able to effectively plan and work independently
while ensuring project goals are met. Proven analytical skills with
the ability to troubleshoot complex tool and system operation
performance issues with services and devices spanning multiple
network boundaries. Preferred: Experience using Configuration
Management processes - Version Control of software and applications
using SVN, Gitlab, Artifactory and familiarity with Defects, Change
Requests and Help Desk tickets using Atlassian tools (Jira.)
Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and
integration. Advanced skill with Kubernetes and containers.
Advanced skill with automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible,
