For Victorian based employees, the compliance date is 26 November 2021.All other global Boeing locations do not have a vaccination requirement at this time.Satellite Division in El Segundo, CA is seeking Embedded Communications Software Engineer, passionate about space and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment to lead the specification, design, development, implementation, and qualification of communication software for a new fleet of Boeing satellites.This position is contingent upon awardPrimary Responsibilities:Responsible to support full life-cycle development including requirements analysis, software architecture, designs, coding, unit test, integration and formal qualification of embedded communications software.Experience in analyzing system requirements and decomposing them to software requirements. Ability to take requirements and define a software system architecture.Candidate should possess excellent communications skills to participate in requirements, design and code reviews; have a thorough understanding of version control and software quality attributes, such as testability, portability and maintainability; and enjoy a self-driven and collaborative development approach.Candidate should possess excellent communications skills and works well in a team environment.Must be able to interact well with System Engineers/Analyst as well other members of the Integrated Product Team.Familiarity with formal development process and current software engineering topics is highly desired.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 5+ years experience with design and implementation of real-time software, gateware, firmware for digital communications and / or signal processing algorithms5+ years of direct experience designing and developing software for a real time or non real-time system.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Successfully completed single scope background investigation (SSBI)Experience in architecting multi-CSCI/multi processor software systemsExperience working with system/subsystem engineersExperience integrating large scale software systems.Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
