full-time position is responsible for the preparation and
maintenance of various Legal Recruiting initiatives and to provide
support to the Southern California Senior Legal Recruiting.
Recruiting duties include, but are not limited to, coordination of
the fall recruitment process and summer associate program, new
associate orientation and integration, and assistance with
recruitment of lateral lawyers for the Southern California market.
Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, the attorney
and summer associate hiring process, interaction with other service
departments (Payroll, Benefits, RSU and IT) and other HR personnel
in other offices and assist with special projects. Essential
Functions Legal Recruiting * Assist with organization and execution
of the Fall Recruiting and the summer associate program. Plan
summer events, track summer associate work assignment and
evaluations, prepare OCI interviewer packets, create callback
interview schedules, prepare and send candidate communications. *
Create and distribute recruiting status reports as needed. *
Prepare correspondence for Hiring Partner and Recruiting Manager
Signatures. * Track resume circulation, generates offer/rejection
letters and statistical reports using viRecruit. * Update and
maintain viRecruit database. * Understands and is familiar with
Firm systems, policies and procedures, client services and future
goals in order to troubleshoot questions, problems or concerns. *
Other Firmwide projects as assigned. Requirements Education: 3rd or
4th year college student. Experience: No prior experience needed.
BA with a focus on HR or Legal preferred. Skills: Requires strong
organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication
skills, good judgment, aprofessional demeanor and the ability to
provide an excellent first impression of the Firm. Must work well
with all levels ofFirm personnel, establish effective working
relationships throughout the Firm and react to difficult situations
appropriately. Confidentiality is essential. Must be highly
motivated, creative, flexible, adaptable to change and
results-oriented. Musthave strong knowledge of MS Offices products,
including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Other Salary Range: $25/HR
This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed
Smith's pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on
various factors, including but not limited to location and
experience. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Equipment To Be
Used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as
telephone, calculator, fax, machine, copier, scanner, etc. Typical
Physical Demands: Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard
office equipment. Typical Mental Demands: Able to work effectively
in a fast paced environment. Make judgment decisions and adapt to
changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas. Communicate
with various personalities at all levels. Working Conditions: Works
in typical office setting. Occasionally called upon to work hours
