in SoCal! Goodwill is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our payroll
department. As a key member of our payroll team, this role prepares
and processes payroll information in an accurate and timely manner
and also processes special payments and deductions. We are looking
for a smart, quick learner who wants to grow their career and work
for a mission-based organization. This is an in-person position
based at our Los Angeles Campus (near Dodger Stadium). Essential
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and
entering data into the payroll system.
- Reviews wages computed and corrects errors prior to process of
payroll. Responds to payroll related inquiries.
- Processes and researches garnishments; communicates with
employees/requesters related to garnishments.
- Researches discrepancies of payroll data for the purpose of
ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to
- Files payroll documents, correspondence and other items in a
- Runs and distributes payroll registers to the responsible
- Prepares all bonuses and special store sales event incentives
except the executives and special requests. Education & Experience
- Minimum one years of payroll or accounting experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required,
some college preferred.
- A firm understanding of payroll law.
- Previous experience with payroll systems in general and
knowledgeable in payroll software preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Bi-lingual and non-profit experience preferred.
- Able to work flexible shift and overtime when needed.
