Job Description:

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science is seeking a highly motivated and organized HR Administrative Support Specialist to join our growing Human Resources team. This individual will report to the Executive, Director of Human Resources to provide support with departmental specialized projects and initiatives. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in strategic, high-impact projects and initiatives related to the ongoing development and expansion of the HR department. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Essential Duties-- Provides general administrative support to the Executive, Director of Human Resources such as preparing and composing correspondence, forms, and reports, and arranging meetings.-- Manages external vendors, staffing agency contracts, and agency vendor contact lists.-- Maintain and manage the University temp employee reporting and position control reports.-- Maintains detailed job descriptions along with salary compensation analysis reporting for Staff, Faculty, and Executives.-- Develops new hire forms and documents in the online onboarding system (PeopleAdmin).-- Works closely with HRIS Manager on ATS system implementation and upgrades.-- Composes the monthly New Employee Announcement broadcast. -- Coordinate and schedule meetings, edit correspondences, handle incoming messages, organize and prepare collateral, and other special requests.-- Handle complex projects independently and interfacing with employees at all levels within the organization.-- Generates reports/queries, including writing, maintaining, and supporting a variety of reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools. -- Assist the Executive, Human Resources Director with fulfilling obligations for all departmental projects.-- Provide detailed reports on activity, metrics, sourcing strategies, and results of same.-- Writes, updates, and creates job descriptions; including researching requirements and compensation information while managing the job description library.-- Gather and recommend effective programs for workforce retention, promotion, and succession planning.-- Manage HR department annual subscriptions/renewals for all vendors.-- Perform additional assignments per management's direction.-- Participate in special projects as needed.
Required QualificationsEDUCATION:-- Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. EXPERIENCE:-- Minimum of three years of experience in talent acquisition, preferably in higher education-- Experience with recruiting technologies and cloud/web-based platforms-- Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics, and relationship management.-- Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various employment reports.Minimum Requirements-- In-depth knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to recruitment, hiring, screening, and selection.-- Demonstrated analytical skills.-- Strong interpersonal communications effectiveness including verbal, written, presentation, and persuasion skills.-- Excellent prioritization and time management skills.-- Self-starter with strong project management skills; highly responsive and able to operate and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; ability to anticipate and think outside the box.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and Applicant Tracking System
