Job Description:
Position Description FLSA: Hourly/salary based on ability to
perform Position Title: Baker Reports to: Bakery Operations
Director Date: February 14, 2023 BASIC FUNCTION: Produce high
quality bread and bread products from scratch and bread-related
components ie. Maintain Rye Sour, Sourdough starter, flavor
additions in a high-volume wholesale/retail bakery. Manage
inventory, ordering, quality control. Must be food handler
certified. Communicate with management regularly in person, text,
email, phone regarding all aspects of responsibility. Perform other
duties as needed and requested by management. Must be proficent in
reading, writing and speaking English. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION,
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE High school diploma or
equivalent Minimum of one year of related experience as a baker in
a bakery/hotel or restaurant. Strong organizational skills Basic
computer skills Must be adaptable to varying working conditions
Show up on time, be prepared and perform duties consistently Able
to prepare bread products from scratch using provided
formulas/follow recipes ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties as
assigned Show up as scheduled, on time, prepared and ready to
produce at a high level. Must be drug and alcohol free during work
hours. Proper attire is required at all times including closed toe
shoes with a non-slip sole. Ensures proper storage and labeling of
ingredients, prepared items and finished products Maintains safety
and sanitary standards in production areas according to state
health code and internal standards Responsible for using
standardized recipes/formulas Participates in managing equipment
maintenance and performance and quality control Must be a team
player, able to work with a culturally and ethnically diverse staff
Maintain a positive, professional relationship with co-workers and
customer through effective, accurate, timely and reliable
communication and action. Always remaining one step ahead of the
needs of the business. Guarantee that the product meets the
customers' expectations of quality, freshness and delivery
ENVIRONMENT: The environment for this position includes the need to
be mobile throughout the production facility, including standing
and walking, bending and lifting in a warm and humid environment
for up to 8 hours per shift. Must be able to safely lift up to 50
pounds. Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: Less than 1
year Salary: $17 - $22 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
