RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Los Angeles,
California. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg /
Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type:
Travel Job Summary (List Format): - Minimum 2 years of Telemetry
nursing experience required - May float to Med-Surg unit as needed
- Must be able to read cardiac rhythm strips - Accepts first-time
travelers - Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH - Patient
population includes adolescents through geriatrics - Average
patient census: 36; 36 rooms/beds - Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4 -
Every other weekend coverage required; no on-call requirements -
Uniform: Royal Blue scrubs - Must be able to work in Telemetry and
receive general Med-Surg and moderate orthopedic surgical patients
(including total joint ortho) - Required cardiac
monitoring/emergency response skills: - Dysrhythmia interpretation
and management - Telemetry (on-unit and remote monitoring) - Rapid
Response Team participation - Required cardiovascular skills: -
Post-cardiac angiogram care - Post-MI care - Pre/Post cardiac cath
and cardiac surgery care - Required IV therapy/phlebotomy skills: -
Blood product administration - Central line and PICC line
management - Starting IVs - Required medication skills: - Heparin
protocol management - Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips
(no titration) - Required respiratory/thoracic skills: - Chest tube
(Emerson/Pleuravac) management - External CPAP/BiPAP - High Flow
Nasal Cannula (HFNC) - Nasal cannula and oxygen masks -
Non-invasive airway management - Tracheostomy management - No
requested time off (RTO) allowed during the first two weeks of the
assignment - All RTO must be submitted with application and cannot
be changed except to cancel - 13-week contract duration Reliant
