Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVICU - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a current CA license, cardiovascular experience, and proficiency in open heart and balloon pump procedures. Responsibilities - Work in a 28-bed ICU with an average census of 24 patients - Patient population includes adults and geriatrics - Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 - Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30) - Every other weekend coverage is required - No on-call requirements - Self-scheduling is offered - Scrubs must be royal blue - Duties include management of complex cardiovascular ICU patients and performance of advanced cardiac procedures - Self-scheduling provides flexibility around work shifts - No call responsibilities required for this assignment - RTO must be submitted with the application and cannot be changed except for cancellations - No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of assignment - Pre-start modules are required and completion is tracked via transcripts - Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers - Consideration of former staff is determined on a case by case basis - First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements - Active CA RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required - Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS - Completion of VIP, MAB, or CPI in-person certification course required - Cardiovascular, open heart, and balloon pump experience required - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs - Experience with arterial line management, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, starting IVs, and ventilated patient care - Two professional references from a supervisor obtained within the past two years Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621434.
