The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is responsible for pediatric treatment in the area of Occupational Therapy. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will provide their services in a generally accepted manner while adhering to the code of ethics of the profession, and in accordance with all applicable state laws. Benefits available for FT COTAs working with ALP: - Competitive pay based on experience and education - Up to $1,200 per year in bonus potential - Comprehensive benefits including health, medical, dental, life as well as Dependent Care FSA which can be used towards childcare - Employer-paid short-term disability in ALL states - 401(k) Retirement Program - 8 paid Holidays and 10 days of PTO - Tuition reimbursement program - Company-issued laptop - Career advancement opportunities with continued support in new roles - Referral bonus incentive programs - Best-in-class Support Center to handle all administrative tasks including but not limited to - client intake, recruiting, payroll, HR, billing, credentialing/contracting, and scheduling - Electronic data collection Job Duties: - Conduct treatment for pediatric clients and their families - Continuously evaluate client needs and share these findings with the supervising Occupational Therapist (OT) - Plan and problem-solve with the supervising OT in order to help each client reach his or her potential - Communicate and collaborate with other professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents in order to provide an effective program - Provide services in an effective manner within your scope of practice - Document all treatment sessions on a daily basis, as well as provide appropriate documentation to supervising OT - Maintain client files and treatment logs in an organized manner to include as well as provide appropriate documentation to supervising OT - Communicate with Supervising OT and/or Directors regarding any changes in status, problems, or intent to change any aspect of services already in place - Attend and participate in meetings as required by the supervising OT (e.g., Clinical staff meetings, team meetings, IEP/IFSP meetings) - Develop instructional materials, and evaluate commercially produced materials for use in treatment as recommended by supervising OT - Keep current on the latest developments in the field of Occupational Therapy by attending professional seminars, reading current literature, and participating in professional organizations. Attend yearly trainings - Keep careful record of billable hours which will require a parent signature and submit time sheets on time, as applicable - Perform other related duties as assigned The Basics: - Compensation: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour - Job Type: Full Time (36 hours per week) Requirements: - Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred - State Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - At least 1 year of experience in Pediatrics Children’s Learning Connection and A Is For Apple are divisions of Autism Learning Partners.
