  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN and CA License.
    • Job Requirements
    • 2 full years of experience
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN and CA License
    • C-section experience required: Circulating c-sections is required, scrubbing preferred
    • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 14 weeks and above, high risk - preeclampsia, diabetes, infection, pre-term, abruption, substance abuse, no prenatal care
    • Travel experience is preferred
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hr shifts, 0645-1915, 1845-0715
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Unit: L&D
        • L&D Beds: 19 beds with 3 c-section suites
        • Triage beds: 0
        • Births per day, per year: Approximately 60 births per month
        • Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2, following AWOHNN guidelines
        • FHM System: Fetal link
        • EMR: Cerner power chart
        • Charge Nurse: Yes
        • Nurse Aides/OB tech: 1 scrub tech
        • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
        • Call Requirement: Not required but helpful if willing to take
        • Holidays: 1 major, 1 minor in both winter and summer holidays
        • Scrub Color: Provided
        • Tele: GE monitors - Core Metrics
        • Vents: No
        • IV Team: No
        • RT 24/7: Yes
        • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
        • Shifts: 12 hr shifts, 0645-1915, 1845-0715
        • Floating: Will have to float to postpartum
        • Floor specific orientation: 1-2 shifts

          • Every other weekend requirement
          • Not required but helpful if willing to take call

          • Perm staff is very friendly and receptive to travelers
