Job Description:

Surgi-Center Of Central VA is seeking -an experienced -FT Pre-Op PACU RN -to join our team. - Surgi-Center Of Central VA is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for -patients and their families. -Our center specializes in the surgical procedures: orthopedics, spine, podiatry, ENT, and ophthalmology. -

• 
  
• Assess, instruct and prepare patients prior to surgery
  
• Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
  
• Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
  
• Assess patients' post-operative condition
  
• Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
  
• Log and chart all findings in patient files
  
• -Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
  
• Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies

    Required Skills:
    
    • 
      
    • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in VA
      
    • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
      
    • Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in Pre-OP/PACU -
      
    • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
      
    • Must have current BLS -
      
    • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
      
    • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
      
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
      
    • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians. -
