Overview
Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is excited to present a new
training program for the experienced registered nurse who is
interested in transitioning to an acute care pediatric setting. The
Transition Fellow ranging from 12 weeks to 16 weeks depending on
the area of specialty, includes competency-driven clinical
immersion and curriculum, as well as formal mentoring and
debriefing. The Transition Fellow will prepare and support the
experienced nurse as they enter into a pediatric specialty
area.
The Emergency Room is a 41-bed tertiary care facility with an
annual volume of nearly 80,000 visits, a dedicated Urgent care area
and two Trauma bays. The patient population served ranges from
neonates to adolescents with a large number of these patients
having high acuity and complex medical conditions. The ED has been
the 3rd Children's Hospital in the US to receive the ENA Lantern
Award for innovation, quality, excellence and healthy work
environment.
Minimum Qualifications:1 year of experience working as an RN in an
acute care or non-acute care setting, however acute care
experienced is preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: ADN with Bachelor's degree in
Nursing (BSN) in progress to be completed with in two years of
employment, Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in
Nursing (MSN) preferred. CA RN license and current American Heart
Association BLS and PALS certification required.
Pay Scale Information
USD $25.10 - USD $43.36
CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our
organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's
starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but
not limited to education and experience within the job or the
industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for
candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements
listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be
determined for those candidates that exceed these specified
qualifications and requirements. We provide a competitive
