The Optum EHR Services pharmacist will support our partnership with Northern Light Health and grow our emerging support service line. As a Cerner pharmacist you will serve as a liaison between end-users, project team members and other Information Management resources while providing exemplary customer service and application support in their assigned Cerner solutions. EHR Services team members will help position Optum as a center of excellence for application management services. -

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Lead all phases (e.g., design, build and testing) of small to medium size pharmacy application projects including Cerner software upgrades, adoption of new Cerner functionality and/or significant enhancements to integrated workflows
  • Provide Cerner product function expertise for the design, build, and testing for assigned Cerner Millennium Pharmacy
  • Collaborate with end users to design, scope, and build Cerner enhancements and configure system build to resolve incidents in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Provide technical and or clinical consultation including application configuration. Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers
  • Develop, support, and maintain workflow documentation, test scripts and configuration guides for core pieces of application functionality
  • Perform daily monitoring of applications in production use; including 24/7 on call coverage as required
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application specific training curriculum and materials
  • Develop solid relationships with operational stakeholders, customers, and business partners

    Required Qualifications:


    • Doctor of Pharmacy degree obtained
    • Experience supporting Cerner Millennium Pharmacy
    • Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
    • Ability to travel up to 25% annually, USA domestic locations. Travel may be lower depending on project requirements
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance.       Preferred Qualifications:


      • Active pharmacist license in a US state or territory
      • 2+ years of Cerner Build Experience designing pharmacy, physician, nursing, and ancillary workflows
      • Experience working in automated dispensing units and/or drug database solutions
      • Experience working as a pharmacist in a hospital or oncology setting
      • Demonstrated ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills

        • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
        • In-depth knowledge of Cerner EHMR and the full implementation lifecycle of Cerner's suite of EHMR applications
        • Teamwork and collaboration. Consultative and collaborative style with demonstrated ability with cross-functional teams
        • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships as well as motivate and inspire other team members through strong consultative skills
        • Demonstrates a solid -ability to build partnerships and influence others. Work across team, group, and business boundaries to drive commonality and reusability in solution to real-world problems
        • Demonstrate solid relationship management skills and ability to manage challenging interpersonal situations

          California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
