Medical Office Manager Job Description
We are currently seeking a Medical Office Manager to oversee all daily operations and supervise office staff in an obstetrics and gynecology medical group. You should have experience working in a medical office and enjoy supporting a large team with demanding schedules. Medical Office Manager will be responsible for helping the physicians group grow the practice through marketing initiatives, increasing referral-based business and adding additional providers to the practice. Additionally, you will manage all day to day aspects of the office including operations, billing and collections, hiring, training, scheduling, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities
--- Assure appropriate cash flow by reviewing aging and other financial information to identify and address trends that affect the ability to collect funds in a timely manner
--- Work with Front Desk Supervisors to ensure front desk understand eligibility verification and authorization needs/processes
--- Establish work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the office
--- Participate in development and implementation of long-range plans
--- Actively participate in practice organizational meetings
--- Manage office operations to maximize patient access, patient satisfaction, and collection of payments
--- Coordinate staff and provider schedules to ensure proper coverage for quality patient care
--- Organize work schedules for staff
--- Manage human resource items; hiring, on-boarding, coaching, training, development and evaluating
--- You will be instrumental in creating a team environment
--- Work closely with the accounting manager to ensure payroll is completed in a timely fashion
--- Reconcile and investigate patient complaints
--- Manage, lead, and participate in process improvement initiatives
--- Ensure practice compliance with patient health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
--- Ensure personnel forms and/or records are kept updated and submitted to other departments in a timely manner
--- Ensure that offices for new and incoming physicians are ready and equipped
--- Collect clinic performance and quality metrics and produces reports for management
--- Perform all other related duties as assigned
--- Ensure that the claims for insurance payments are completed timely and accurately
--- Ensure completion of all payment appeals from Provider Dispute Process after initial processing and interface with outside payer organizations to resolve reimbursement issues in a timely manner

Qualifications
--- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or related fields
--- 5+ years experience working as an Office Manager or an Administrator for a high call volume doctor's office
--- Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
--- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
--- Strong organizational and planning skills
--- Must have prior medical experience to be considered for the job
--- Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, decision-making
--- Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
