At the end of April 2019, WorleyParsons combined with Jacobs Energy, Chemicals and Resources (ECR) division, to create Worley.

* Develop commercially equitable business opportunities for WorleyParsons that represent good alignment with the Companys vision and differentiators, as well as satisfying our customers needs.

* Assume key role in converting business opportunities into projects and in the hand-over process. In collaboration with the CSG/Location managers, develop strong and sustainable business relationships with our customers.


* Health, safety and environment comply with the Companys HSE policies, procedures & requirements,

* actively support the continuous development of a Zero Harm safety culture in our workplace

* Formulate, recommend and implement an annual business development plan to maximise successes in winning desirable work, revenues and profits

* Take a leading role in planning and directing business development activities in line with agreed business development plans

* Develop market research methods and carry out research to identify major prospects, establish methods to determine the probability of winning each major identified project to assist in the total forward planning

* Liaise with senior managers (including but not limited to location, CSG and industry managers), providing market intelligence and co-ordinating the corporate and area plans for each market segment.

* Oversee, co-ordinate and evaluate business development activities, review actual sales against plan, and take corrective action on major deviations from the plan

* Provide relevant details for senior managers on the economic and business viability of the proposals they submit to potential clients, there by ensuring business won is profitable

* Assess potential sales and marketing opportunities and recommend the allocation of required resources for turning these opportunities into achieved sales that would provide equitable returns

* Liaise with potential clients and provide marketing and sales support facilities to senior managers to ensure they have a competitive edge when negotiating sales and contracts

* Work collaboratively with the GM, BD Manager and other location managers and senior engineers to develop a cohesive and profitable business

* Support the development and implementation of business plans (multiple CSGs) to ensure they are feasible in marketing terms, project market mix and sales values

* Prepare monthly reports on business development, marketing, tendering and project handover.

* Build sustainable, long-term business relationships that provide responsive and quality customer services


* preparation of professional business proposals and tender submissions

* winning small to large projects in mining, industrial, heavy manufacturing and/or infrastructure sectors

* Good knowledge of relevant industries

* Excellent skills in market research, identifying early entry to business opportunities and listening to customers needs

* Competent in converting identified opportunities into commercially viable business proposals

* Commercial acumen in the development of cost effective and robust business cases to win work.

* Strong ability to initiate, develop and maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers, senior managers and other stakeholders

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to all levels of customers and employees

* Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and manage conflicting priorities

* A minimum of 15 years work experience in relevant industries, especially in heavy industrial,manufacturing and mining industries, in business development and/or senior management positions

* Strong customer and teamwork focus

* Good project management skills highly desirable

* Graduate and/or post-graduate degree(s) in engineering
