Job Description:

Overview Element has an opportunity for an Order Entry/Planning Manager to join our growing team. The Order Entry / Planning Manager oversees a department comprised of order entry and planning engineers. Leading the staff to perform all the steps necessary for processing orders in a timely and efficient manner is the primary job function. This role is also responsible for evaluation of effective/efficient order entry / planning processes and preparation of monthly reports as well as ensuring that the group is performing in accordance with established QA procedures. Responsibilities * Ensure that all facets of the order entry / planning process are providing an optimum customer service level and working capital performance as defined by the organization's business operating plans and strategic objectives * Partner with the Sales and Operations teams to ensure the department capacities are reviewed, gaps, leadtime extensions and overlaps are forecasted, communicated and issues appropriately escalated * Collaborate with Operations, Sales and Finance to ensure that the appropriate data is available and accurate to be reviewed at the monthly planning process meetings * Determine processing and testing priorities, work assignments and methods required to meet 100% OTIF, arranging sub-contracting that optimizes best service and cost where applicable * Support initiatives aimed at improving current business processes across the.Aerospace West Division * Accomplishes day-to-day work operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing order entry policies and procedures * Improves data entry quality results by completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; studying, evaluating, and re-designing work processes; implementing changes * Collaborates with Operations, Sales and Finance to ensure that he appropriate data is available and accurate to be viewed at weekly/monthly meetings * Serve as the point of contact for issue-escalation between the sales and order entry departments * Keeps direct manager informed of any issues that arise * Follows all organizational privacy rules to ensure customers' personal information is protected * Document and share "best practices" methods, processes and ideas across the business's operations to drive continuous improvements in all aspects of business operations * Fosters an environment trust, collaboration, teamwork, and fun among team membersOther duties as assigned * Manages and motivates staff (including: hiring, firing, performance management, and recognition duties) * Assesses staffing needs, and participates in staff recruitment efforts Trains, directs, and appraises staff * Makes daily schedules for proper manpower utilization * Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments * Issues written and verbal instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures Skills / Qualifications * Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university plus 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * Self-disciplined and self-motivated * Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) * Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities * Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs.
