Job Description McKinley Resources, Inc. is a small entrepreneur-based organization focusing primarily on Chemical Distribution.This company operates out of a virtual office with a heavy reliance on communication technology, e.g. telephone, computer, scanner, and fax. Employees operate from their homes and log into a remote computer. McKinley Resources, Inc. is very family friendly and offers a flexible work schedule.The Strategic Sales & Marketing Account Manager role is a fulltime Salary + Commission based position and offers no healthcare benefits. The position provides an opportunity to work independently to achieve revenue targets and accomplish business objectives with minimal management support, while working remotely from a home office.*The primary focus of this role will be to target and develop business opportunities among strategic accounts in the assigned territory to drive brand awareness and sales growth.Territory: California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakoda, NebraskaResponsibilitiesIdentify, qualify and engage appropriate client organizations.Develop an in-depth understanding of the customer's organization and research and development processes through regular customer on-site visits.Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of represented product lines and their practical applications to the challenges faced by target customers.Identify opportunities where represented product lines can provide high value solutions.Create strategic account plans identifying key individuals, initiatives and actions to deliver solutions while clearly articulating the value proposition of the various product lines.Develop and manage effective professional relationships with target customers at multiple levels, including Scientists, Chemists, Researchers, and Purchasing Agents.Manage the extended sales cycle (9-24 months) from introduction through testing, purchase, and deployment.Anticipate and manage challenges that delay customer purchase decisions.Achieve assigned sales goals and productivity targets within the assigned geographical area.Complete required reports detailing activities and accomplishments.Contribute to a professional sales atmosphere through positive interaction with colleagues and customers.Participate in trade shows and other industry functions.Provide ongoing market intelligence on competitive actions impacting sales performance in the marketplace.Investigate other industries, markets and products for additional company opportunities.Pursue additional avenues for increase in company's positive publicity while managing the corporate image and advertising efforts.Proactively seek opportunities to improve existing processes Core Competencies and Personal Characteristics:The successful candidate must enjoy working with people; have excellent selling skills, and an entrepreneurial attitude, as well as the following:Demonstrated ability to think strategically and a strong desire to win (Confident, positive, enthusiastic personality)Excellent presentation and negotiation skillsAbility to build effective relationshipsPersonal commitment to achieving results; willingness to work hard to accomplish goalsProven written and verbal communication abilities (email, telephone, in person)Demonstrated organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently (without supervision), while exhibiting excellent judgment and pro-active thinkingAbility to initiate and sustain momentum without external stimulation; persistent.Exceptional at multi-tasking and coping with changing prioritiesAble to maintain a high level of confidentiality, while displaying tact and diplomacyComfortable working in a team environment and able to cooperate with others to meet objectivesFlexible with working hours, with a willingness to learn and take on more responsibility. Education/experience required:Doctoral degree (preferred) in Chemistry, Biology or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field3+ years applied experience in the Consultative Selling approach and a strong sales track record (preferred)Experience in the field of cosmetics–product formulation, research and development, etc.Extensive client contact experience in a variety of organizationsSmall business environment experienceProficiency in software and technology packages, including MS Office Suite Additional requirements:Must own a Personal Computer complete with MS OFFICE SUITEPossession of a Telephone Plan w/ unlimited long distanceMust maintain a Broadband ConnectionMust live within the designated territoryOwnership of a clean, dependable mode of transportation for making sales calls a mustMust be authorized to work in the United States *Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position
