Job Description:
Immediate need for Senior Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Analyst
(Pay-Per-Click) to work for dynamic organization. Manages a number
of PPC accounts and builds relationships with key clients. The Sr.
SEM Analyst position requires extensive PPC account management
experience and an advanced knowledge of SEM best practices.
Exceptional communication and presenting skills, problem solving
and leadership are a must. In addition, the Senior SEM Analyst must
be fiscally responsible, as this position is responsible for
managing clients' monthly budgets. The ideal candidate will also
participate, and at times, lead in the development of internal
process and help develop and oversee SEM analysts. This candidate
must complete and maintain certifications for the Google Analytics,
Google AdWords, Bing Ads and others if needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develop complex SEM strategies for key accounts, which may also
involve coordination between teams and leveraging external
resources
2. Use discretion and judgment to make independent decisions that
can have a significant impact both internally and to client
projects
3. Develop and build custom PPC campaigns individually tailored to
clients, utilizing industry best practice and experience
4. Allocate and manage client monthly budgets and provide spend
pacing information for key accounts projects, as appropriate
5. Supervise SEM Analysts, as needed
6. Complete in-depth and actionable keyword research
7. Develop compelling and effective ad copy development
8. Test ad copy, landing pages and other critical campaign
elements
9. Manage bids on a day to day basis
10. Create weekly, monthly and ad hoc performance reports for
clients
11. Maintain detailed logs of client tasks and status
12. Read, analyze and interpret general industry articles, reports
and legal documents
13. Maintain an expert knowledge of search engine marketing
platforms
14. Respond to common inquiries (questions, praise or complaints)
from clients and their extended staff
15. Competently communicate project status to clients and staff
16. Respond promptly to client service requests
17. Write reports, business correspondence and conduct conference
calls
18. Communicate effectively, both orally and in written form,
technical information with a wide variety of individuals and
groups
19. Develop and implement of internal processes, as needed
20. Attend internal and client meetings as required
21. Must be able to work 40 or more hours a week
22. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Intermediate HTML knowledge required
Expert knowledge of PPC advertising platforms (AdWords,
Bing/Yahoo)
AdWords and Bing Ads certification. Google Analytics certification
is a plus
Intermediate-advanced knowledge of analytics suites (Google
Analytics and Omniture)
Strong Microsoft Office experience, particularly
intermediate-to-advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or computer science
preferred
4+ years' experience - preferably in an agency setting
Genuine knowledge and interest in internet marketing in general,
staying informed on industry trends/research
