Veterinary Specialists of the Valley is seeking an RVT/VTS ER/ICU
Training Director to complement our talented emergency medicine
team in Woodland Hills, California. We have a full-time, 10hr shift
position available, day, evening and/or overnight with the
flexibility to work at least one weekend shift.Job Purpose: This
position involves training technical staff at a single hospital
location, adhering to the principles of Quality, Responsibility,
Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom. The primary responsibility is
to provide academic and practical training to the technical
team.Duties and Responsibilities:Support existing training
objectives, structure, while creating, and supplementing additional
technical training as needed.Schedule and organize all technical
training meetings, classes, and practical coursework.Develop
guidelines, SOPs, handouts, tests, and practical exercises for
technical training purposes.Administer written and practical exams
for technical training, and collaborate with department Managers to
provide feedback on technical performance.Assist in conducting
interviews and skill assessments for potential new technical staff
members, as requested by the Hospital Administrator or Department
Managers.Assist in conducting skill assessments for current staff
members.Arrange and deliver technical training sessions across
various formats and times to ensure comprehensive exposure for
24-hour staff.Participate in technical staff reviews to assess
skills and provide clear performance expectations.Facilitate the
integration of new technical employees into the hospital
environment.Qualifications:The Technician Trainer should hold an
RVT certification and have over 5+ years of technical experience in
a large 24-hour Emergency hospital setting.Previous experience in
teaching or training within a veterinary context is highly
desirable.Thorough knowledge of veterinary medicine, including
clinical procedures, animal handling, and medical
terminology.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Passion
for education and mentorship.Organizational aptitude and attention
to detail.Compensation: $30 - $35 per hour, depending on experience
