We are seeking friendly, enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about providing great customer service.Job Description Summary:POSITION OBJECTIVE:The Regulatory Affairs & Technical Services Manager is responsible for product label and labeling aspect of food safety. This position will report to the Director of FSQA providing food science and regulatory expertise, develops and maintains appropriate records to meet corporate and government requirements and regulations to ensure the highest level of technical accuracy of product label and labeling. The position will execute tasks and play a consultative role by partnering with cross business functions.The pay range for this position is expected to be $105,000-$130,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Job Description:POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Review ingredient information to determine ingredient permissibility; review formula, processes, labeling and claims per appropriate food laws, and regulations2. Evaluate the impact of production performance (SPC), process changes and recipe updates on nutrition compliance.3. Create nutrition facts panels in compliance with US labeling regulations. Determine the correct Reference Amounts Customarily Consumed, serving size, servings per container, and format of panels for single or multi serving products4. Conduct independent and proficient review and/or approval of various forms of product packaging and labels through application of US regulations, industry case studies and the standards and principles of nutrition and food science. Components to be reviewed/approved include but not limited to product name, description, ingredient statement, nutrition fact panel, claims, and graphics on print or digital format.5. Conduct collaborated and accurate review and/or approval of various forms of product packaging and labels through application of international regulations, industry case studies, the standards and principles of nutrition and food science. Components to be reviewed/approved include but not limited to product name, description, ingredient statement, nutrition fact panel, claims, and graphics on print or digital format6. Review and maintain documentation of ingredient s name, sub-components, allergen information, nutrition information, and bioengineered status on file for claim substantiation and records7. Create and maintain organized databases of labeling and packaging for new products and for ongoing recipe changes of existing products by analyzing recipes utilizing a nutrition database, including formulations, ingredient specifications, and analytical laboratory data as necessary to ensure accuracy and proactively track last revision and when the next revision needs to take place8. Use trial run data and historical process capability data, provide key regulatory insight during the early stage of product research and development to accelerate the concept to commercialization9. Oversee regulatory monitoring and horizon scanning activities
review and analyze the new and emerging regulations and trends from government agencies that affect the company10. Present timely and regular regulatory updates and advice to the senior management team with proposed action plans to meet compliance deadlines11. Coach Regulatory Affairs members and relevant internal partners to develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of global and US food laws and regulations12. Build efficient and effective system to step into direct reports
duties and assume responsibility under the guidance and support of the Director, Food Safety & Quality Assurance and the FSQA team13. Act as a responsive and thorough liaison between the FSQA department and other departments (Sales, Marketing, Consumer Affairs, Shop Operations) to ensure questions and questionnaires are responded in a timely manner14. Ensure all See s facilities are up to date with key registrations (FDA Bi-annual Facility Registration, Kosher, GFCO etc.) 15. Completes additional projects as assigned by ManagementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:1. Self-starter with demonstrated high level of initiative.2. Organized and detail-oriented, with excellent record-keeping skills.3. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and meet aggressive timeline with changing priorities4. Excellent communication skills, proven ability to supervise and motivate employees.5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently with Production, R&D, Sales, Marketing with minimal direct supervision.6. Bachelor's degree, preferably in US food laws and regulations, food science, nutrition, or a related field7. 5+ years of relevant food regulatory experience in the Food & Beverage industry with 4+ years primarily in food labeling and nutrition compliance8. 1+ year of food product development and processes.9. Knowledge of Genesis R&D and/or other nutrition databases.10. Strong functional knowledge of Quality Systems.11. Proficiency: Windows, MS Office (or equivalent software).The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, in addition to a full range of generous medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
