We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Grants Manager with a proven knack for chasing down grants and securing funding from a variety of sources, including government, non-profit, corporate, and philanthropic sectors. As our Grants Manager, you will embark on a journey filled with diverse grant opportunities.We are talking about grants, requests for proposals (RFPs), Notices of Funding Availability (NoFAs), and competitions - we affectionately call them "grants." This is not your run-of-the-mill job; it is an absolutely pivotal role within SoLa. You will collaborate across our various entities and departments including SoLa Impact's real estate verticals and the SoLa Foundation. Plus, you will get to work directly with our CEO and COO. We are on the lookout for someone with storytelling superpowers and top-notch organization skills. You will be our SoLa storyteller, painting a vivid picture of our mission and vision in a way that is tailor-made for each exciting funding opportunity that comes our way. • Research, evaluate, and nurture grant opportunities from current and potential funders to align with both immediate and long-term organizational objectives
• Craft and submit grant applications, including renewals, to established foundations and corporate supporters
• Identify and craft proposals and application packages for new funding possibilities, ensuring alignment with program and organizational goals. This encompasses various sources such as corporate, private, federal, state, and municipal funding opportunities
• Establish and maintain an organized repository of data for potential and submitted grants, alongside pertinent documentation
• Create and maintain a master calendar detailing all grant and report deadlines. Regularly provide biweekly status reports to the SoLa management team outlining proposals and reporting due dates for the forthcoming two months
• Collaborate with diverse teams at SoLa to construct compelling narratives for projects, backed by robust impact data, then assist with project hand-offs once grants are awarded
• Develop and sustain meaningful relationships with key stakeholders across government, non-profit, philanthropic, and corporate sectors EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of successful grant writing experience, including prospect research, sourcing, developing, writing, and submitting successful private, federal, and state government grant proposals
  • Experience in leading teams and delegating tasks to facilitate large and complex submissions
  • Familiarity with affordable housing, social equity, and/or ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) preferred
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and common grant submission platforms
  • A strong passion for SoLa's mission and a commitment to consistently improving the grants management process
