Aerospace invites highly qualified candidates to apply to be the
new director of our Economic and Market Analysis Center (EMAC).
EMAC plays a critical role in informing Aerospace's customers and
stakeholders on current industry market conditions, performs
analytics on specific market segments, and conducts due diligence
assessments on individual companies. EMAC analysis/analytical
products influence decision makers on strategic national security
challenges and draw engagement/visibility from senior stakeholders,
including the White House, Congress, the US Department of Defense,
and Intelligence Community. EMAC plays an increasingly particularly
pivotal role at a time of unprecedented change in the Space
enterprise. EMAC is a unique and evolving capability that supports
a wide range of customers in the National Security, civil,
commercial, and international space communities to inform
acquisitions and in particular, for high demand and
transformational commercial space portfolios. The ideal candidate
for this position brings experience from the investing community, a
strong engineering or analytical background, a proven track record
of building and leading high performing teams, and a demonstrated
ability to successfully engage with internal and external executive
leaders. Job Summary Aerospace's Acquisition Analysis and Planning
Subdivision (AAPS) is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking leader
to be the next Department Director for EMAC. EMAC combines deep
insights into venture capital investing, market dynamics,
economics, finance, data analytics, US space needs, engineering,
and technology to conduct data driven due diligence assessments and
develop critical insights and market intelligence. EMAC applies
these to inform senior decision makers and enable US Government and
Key Partners manage risk and make informed tradeoffs to a)
successfully leverage commercial capabilities and b) navigate a
rapidly evolving commercial space ecosystem. What You'll Be Doing
Recruit, hire, mentor, develop, and lead a mix of business,
financial, analytical, and engineering staff to deliver timely and
innovative economic and market assessments and enable informed
acquisition decisions and risk mitigation approaches Effectively
manage and grow a geographically distributed department Enable high
performance teams, who deliver acquisition and systems engineering
planning, to integrate business and market intelligence into their
acquisition processes and strategic program planning. Develop and
implement the department's strategy, grow department capabilities,
shape and respond to demand signals, and guide the department's
research and development portfolio. Build and scale teams with
unique skills and coordinate staffing and priorities to ensure
excellent support to customers. Personally perform & lead economic
or market analysis tasks as appropriate, including hands on
development. Assign resources, estimate staffing needs, coordinate
activities, and connect with requisite stakeholders. Collaborate
with outside organizations to provide technical support and
outreach for EMAC's technical capabilities. Develop and maintain
relationships with program offices to sustain the department's
activities. Work with other departments across Aerospace to deliver
innovative solutions and scale corporate economic and market
analysis capabilities. Work with the AAPS leadership team to
deliver the AAPS strategy to build our brand, grow our
capabilities, deliver excellence, and elevate our impact. Work
across AAPS and Aerospace to develop solutions that enable
enterprise mission success, deliver technical excellence, people
excellence, and operational excellence. What You Need to be
Successful Master's degree in business, finance, market research,
or related field with exposure to engineering, mathematics,
physical sciences, or related science field Minimum of 10 years of
applicable experience working space-related investment analysis,
commercial acquisition risks, working with Wall Street or defense
and national security space industry stakeholders, or commercial
satellite service providers Applicable experience working
space-related investment analysis, commercial acquisition risks,

Demonstrated strengths in several of the following: technology
forecasting and road-mapping, data science, financial and market
analysis, econometrics, business case or business plan analysis,
and industrial base/benchmarking analysis Demonstrated experience
in formulation of business assessment task planning, working in
cross-functional or cross-organizational teams (USG, FFRDC,
contractor), issue resolution, and orchestrating task balance
across a team. Previous experience leading highly technical project
teams. Strategic thinking and ability to successfully lead teams
through ambiguity and managing competing timelines Ability to
provide departmental strategic and budget planning, workforce
planning, recruiting, and staffing, succession planning, personnel
development, and customer relationships, in a fast-paced
environment. Consistent track record of establishing and
maintaining effective interpersonal and working relationships with
different levels of corporate staff, peers, management, program
offices, customers, and contractors. Excellent communications
skills, both written and oral A commitment to an inclusive
environment that fosters excellence and collaboration Willing to
travel domestically up to 10%. This position requires ability to
obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by
the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a
security clearance. How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if
you have one or more of these: Previous management experience
(e.g., associate director). Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal,
verbal, and written communication skills for interactions at all
organizational levels Proven ability to successfully engage with
senior executives and external audiences Experience working in a
program office setting, managing matrix support, and developing
statements of work. Demonstrated experience in obtaining resources
from program offices to support department research priorities.
Recognition as a subject matter expert with publications,
presentations, or contributions to the broader community of
practice Experience in a commercial satellite service organization,
especially related to business development, market research, or
raising capital financing Advanced degree in a related field or
equivalent experience/certification Familiarity with Aerospace
Corporation's customers and working in a classified environment
Current DoD TS and SSBI/SCI clearance Leadership Competencies

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide
variety of factors including but not limited to education,
experience, knowledge and skills. (Min - Mid - Max) $180,000 -
