Position Summary

The Program Manager will be hired by LAEP and supervised by the Director of Early Childhood and Family Engagement. The Program Manager will facilitate and support the work of the partnership and develop the individual and collective capacities of community residence and stakeholders. The Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring daily program implementation including staff management, staff development, program recruitment/outreach, partner relations, and data collection. - - - - -



Minimum Requirements

The NEV Program Manager will:


  • Work as part of the LAEP employee team based in the Northeast Valley area, focused on building community partnership to support and promote the safety, healthy development and well-being of children prenatal to age 5 and their families in their community.
  • Assemble and facilitate a neighborhood partnership to identify unique needs and priorities of community.
  • Assist in identifying members to participate in the community meetings.
  • Supports/Facilitate/Coach the Leadership Team.
  • Assist in identify previous community projects, and best practices from other Best Start Communities.
  • Support with outreach of participants for the community partnership.
  • Model facilitation techniques, and ensure groups are working well together.
  • Monitor capacity development and community partnership project.
  • Establish, review and update current database of learning supports and community resources.
  • On board new members and re-engage past members of committee group
  • Coordinate with El Nido Family Centers for meetings, events and other engagements among agencies.
  • Work with other best start communities.
  • Develop communication materials, and public relationships.
  • Manage evaluation (program and staff), and report data evaluation.
  • Assist in developing implementation plan.
  • Facilitate and manage program meetings.
  • Supervise Program Assistant and Program Outreach Workers.
  • Process documentation as required for administrative procedures, including invoices, timesheets, evaluation materials and tracking logs.
  • Participate in LAEP activities that support the culture and successes of LAEP.
  • Participate in mandatory LAEP meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.



    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)


    • Experience in working with early education and/or school age programs (3 years' experience preferred).
    • Experience in developing and managing programs that support children's academic success through parent engagement, family support and community / school collaboration (3 years' experience preferred).
    • Experience leading/managing community projects, including but not limited to advocacy and resource alignment. (3 years' experience preferred).
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong written and interpersonal skills
    • Bilingual English/Spanish required
    • Experience working with individuals with diverse ethnic backgrounds
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
    • BA required, preferably in a related field such as education or social work

      • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
      • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.



        Licensing and Certifications


        • Daily driving could be required, must provide own vehicle, valid Driver's License and proof of full vehicle insurance coverage;
        • Negative tuberculosis screen (required);
        • Must pass criminal background check.
