JOB DESCRIPTION & OVERVIEW
The Sr. Technical Program Manager must be innovative,
intellectually curious, results-oriented technology leader who will
be responsible for driving the company product roadmap, software
development and operations of systems. The Sr. TPM will guide the
efforts of developers across multiple national locations. The
Senior TPM will be responsible for pragmatic visionary that can
translate business needs into technology solutions that scale both
technically and operationally. Responsible for driving quality and
enabling technical innovation. This position will manage evolving /
complex demands, including multiple projects with dependencies on
other internal organizations. The Sr. TPM will draw on consumer
feedback, usage and operational data, along with leading technology
businesses to set and deliver on aggressive goals for adoption,
operational performance, feature delivery, and revenue. The ideal
Candidate for the consulting project will have:
- 6+ years of experience working directly with engineering
teams
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams,
building sustainable processes and coordinating release
schedules
- 5+ years of technical program management experience
- Strong business and technical vision
- Results-oriented person with a focus on delivery
- 10 or more total years related experience
- Experience managing multiple large, cross functional projects
in a matrixed organization
- Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical
skills, leadership skills essential to successful program/project
management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a
must
- Ability to drive tough decision making, balancing business
goals, technical implications, and time to market
- Ability to work independently, excellent problem-solving
skills
- Deep hands-on technical expertise
- Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability
to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests,
recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead
engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal
solutions.
- A strong track record of on-time project delivery for large,
cross-functional projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability
to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests,
recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead
engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal
solutions
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Interact with Project Sponsors, other Technical Program
Managers, and multiple development teams to define and deliver
complex cross-functional projects.
- Drive large scale projects spanning teams from inception to
conclusion, formulate the product vision, define user stories,
research appropriate technical solutions.
- Clearly communicate vision, plans and project status to
management and key technical and business stakeholders within the
company.
- Work closely with the software development team on delivering
high-quality solutions, and provide guidance regarding
architecture, design, and priorities.
- Engage with other teams across the nation on projects, to build
relationships and help identify existing technologies that can be
leveraged to meet the team's goals.
- Identify, assess and mitigate risks, provide escalation
management, anticipate and make tradeoffs balancing the business
needs versus constraints.
- Create, maintain and disseminate project information to
stakeholders.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- MBA or Advanced degree in Computer Science or
Engineering
- Must be technically credible to lead teams of world-class
software engineers and be able to make the right design decisions
and technology choices
- Business management or a related degree
- 7-10 years of related experience with large scale strategic
planning within a disbursed organization.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
- PMP, SCRUM, AGILE CISSP preferred
- Blackbelt or Six Sigma preferred
- Scopes and manages the most strategic technical projects, with
significant bottom-line impact.
