Overview:
The Direction of Participations will lead all aspects of the TV participations statements preparation process, work on complex TV participation statements, prepare abstracts for approval, provide training programs for various subject matters, assist with the in-house participation system, and perform various ad-hoc projects. The TV Participation team handles contractual reporting to co-production partners and third-party participants on shows produced and distributed by CBS, Paramount, and Showtime! This position reports to the VP of Participations.Responsibilities:
Day to day supervision of analysts.
Prepare and review agreement abstracts for first-time participation statements. Get along with Business/Legal Affairs department to confirm the deal terms.
Set up complex first-time participation statements in the system.
Review recurring participation statements prepared by the analysts.
Find alternative solutions to resolve problems that arise during the statement preparation process.
Communicate optimally with management in various business units to acquire required information or provide possible solutions.
Manage departmental statement assignments and workflow.
Support management by completing various ad hoc projects.
Liaise with IT to test and implement upgrades within the company's systems.
Conduct various training and developmental exercises.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, focus in Accounting, Finance or related areas preferred.
8+ years of TV participations and/or television distributions experience.
Additional Qualifications:
Proficient in general accounting principles and able to navigate various accounting systems and ledgers across the company.
Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel (i.e.: build formulas, pivot tables and v-lookups).
Familiarity with PARIS, Oracle, SAP systems are plus.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize to meet deadlines.
Able to translate the big picture vision into a clear action plan.
Strong analytical skills are required to analyze financial data.
Research and draw relationships between various complex deals.
Take ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks.
