JOB SUMMARY: The Client Development Manager (CDM) is a highly visible, partner facing position that provides strategic and practical client relationship and development support for a group of priority clients primarily within the life sciences and healthcare (LSHC) industry and the private equity firms from which LSHC clients receive funding. Working closely with the Firm's senior management and partners, the Director of Client Development (DCD), the CDM will primarily be responsible for helping identify, develop, and implement strategies and tactics to help the Firm develop and expand existing relationships and win new business. The CDM will also be involved with initiatives and projects that are aligned with the firm's LSHC Industry Group. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently manage several client teams in the LSHC industry and support DCD on management of large key client relationships and new client development in targeted geographies. Help to identify and implement strategies and tactics to improve client satisfaction, expand into new areas of service and grow client revenues. Together with client team partner leads, take responsibility for the development and execution of team client plans, including identifying the key objectives and supporting actions for the development of the relationship. Also, create and manage the annual client team budget. Organize and actively participate in regular client team meetings both as part of the smaller core client team with the CCL(s) and as part of the fuller client team, including creating agendas, meeting minutes and facilitating follow up. Commission client research in support of specific pitches or to enhance client team's general overall knowledge of the client's business. Regularly monitor news on a client and its market with an eye for opportunities to enhance the client team's knowledge-base, assist with cross-selling, develop value added training, etc. Review monthly client financial reports and develop analysis of key trends for the client team partner lead(s) and the broader client team. Coordinate existing/prospective client-wide RFPs and fee arrangements working with members of the Firm's practice development and pricing teams. Maintain details of successful and unsuccessful cross-selling activities and share success stories and challenges with the Firm's global business development team. Identify opportunities to conduct post-pitch debriefs, post-matter reviews, statesperson visits, and annual meetings with clients. Must have executive level presence, a high degree of poise and presence with the ability to interact effectively, build relationships with several different constituents, and the ability to influence action and achieve results. Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) is a plus, but not required Senior professional experience with a minimum of 8 years of experience in business development within a large professional services firm Demonstrated knowledge of LSHC and private equity industries is a plus, not a requirement The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of the job. The anticipated pay range for this role is $135,000 - $202,000, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
